thinkCube pioneers in developing the next generation of Collaborative Cloud Computing products that are tailored towards Telecom operators. Unlike other Cloud Computing providers, we firmly believe that the best way to reach Enterprise customers and provide a superior experience is through Telecom operators. As such, our main business proposition to Telecom operators is to use the thinkCube platform as a stepping stone to offering a wide range of Collaboration and Enterprise features to their customers.
Our story
All small businesses have a few computers and a relatively good broadband connectivity to the Internet. In many cases, setting up of core infrastructure services such as wireless hotspots, printer or file shares can be performed by in-house staff without much technical know-how. Yet when it comes to productivity tools such as email, chat, calendering and contact management, there is a huge barrier to acquiring and deploying such technologies within a small business.
thinkCube was founded in 2006 to develop an out of the box, Collaboration Server product targeted at Small, Medium Enterprises (SME) by leveraging on existing (mature) Open Source Technologies to provide an integrated and user friendly experience.
Co-founded by Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, Mr. Buddhika Siddhisena and Mr. Lakmal Warusawithana whom with their wealth of experience in the IT industry saw the need for an inexpensive, easy to manage Collaboration platform. In 2010, thinkCube was acquired by Access Telecommunication Services (Pvt.) Ltd., the leading provider for Telecommunication products & services in Sri Lanka.
Today we continue to drive Collaboration in the enterprise through our flagship cloud computing platform designed and developed from ground up for Telco operators / service providers.

Mithila Mendis
Chief Operating Officer
As the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Mithila is responsible for driving the Vision of the Company and directing the company operations. Mithila’s career spanning a period of twenty years has been focused on the Telecom space and has been responsible for deployment, operation and optimization of many operating units in several service providers. Mithila’s initial career with Singapore Telecom International (STI) involved several assignments at subsidiary companies involving broadcasting, data services, fixed network operations etc. He also gained extensive experience in the Access Network technology space during his tenure as Regional Director – South Asia for Airspan Networks Inc ( a leading WIMAX / LTE solution provider).
Mithila holds a First Class, Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) degree from City University, London. He is also a member of the Institution of Engineering Technology (formally IEE) and IEEE. He is also a register chartered engineer (C.Eng.) of the Engineering council (UK)
Buddhika (Bud) Siddhisena
Chief Technology Officer
Buddhika provides technical guidance and direction to leverage in existing proven technologies such as Open Source Software, Linux and Virtualizaion.
Buddhika has over 14 years of experience in IT, mainly in the areas of Free & Open Source, E-Commerce and other Networking Technologies. Prior to joining thinkCube, Buddhika was working as a Technical Consultant at the R&D Lab of Virtusa, a leading global software development organization. During that time he was an influential figure in advocating the use of FOSS by engaging in several POC studies and Business Pursuits.Prior to joining Virtusa, Buddhika was a co-founder of ITABS, a company that specialized in Linux based server deployments that came with a custom easy to use server management web interface. Buddhika has also been involved through the inception of several leading Open Source projects, such as Sahana and Tarprobane GNU/Linux.
He has a B.Sc from University of Colombo and is also a member of the British Computer Society (BCS), and a council member of BCS, Sri Lanka Section.
Lakmal Warusawithana
Chief Architect
Lakmal has designed the software framework and works closely with the developers and other Open Source project developers to achieve a smooth integration between the various components. Lakmal has over 8 years of experience in IT, mainly in the areas of Free & Open Source, Telecommunication and Networking Technologies. Prior to thinkCube, Lakmal was a Senior Software Enginner of ITABS, a company that specialized in Linux based server deployments that came with a custom easy to use server management interface. He was the Project Leader and Chief Architect of a VOIP and FAX Server product that was deployed at a major local telecom provider. He also played a key role of driving the ITABS R&D Team.
Lakmal has a B.Sc. degree in computer science from the University of Colombo.

thinkCube has personal with several years of experience working with local and international clients in the areas of Open Source Technologies, Open Source Integration, Open Standards, Telecommunication Solutions and Web Technologies. Some of these experiences include developing rich applications on the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL/PostgreSQL, PHP) platform, Web Services integration, building AJAX powered E-commerce applications, setting up and deploying Linux distributions such as Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Ubuntu Server, setting up clusters, database replication, high availability (Linux HA) and setting up firewalls to name a few.
